this necklace covers every bead type in the books; crystal, pearls, quartz (pink and yellow)... and the list goes on. the necklaces photographs a bit more vibrant than in reality, and i do think it is much more beautiful on a neck than captured here. it has almost a subdued nature to it, i find it to be very tranquil, even if it is composed of many different bead styles.

i have two necklaces in the works right now, and wanted to give you a first look at them. the necklace below is for someone super special to me. i chose a fairly muted color palette, with a lot of sparkly accents.

i found this pin and was instantly excited to create a necklace dedicated to my favorite holiday. i plan on watching my favorite halloween movies, Hocus Pocus and Nightmare before Christmas and finishing this one up fairly quick. Check back later this week to see the finished necklace!

i am finally starting to feel that good golly designs is legit. the website is up and running, and i am so proud of how it turned out. all those weeks [months] of one step forward then three steps back finally paid off and my struggle with web design has come to an end! and now i have finished my business cards... one more thing checked off my to do list.

bring on the fall!!

labor day weekend for most is a somber reminder that yet another summer has come to a close. though i live for those weekends away at the beach, spending time in the sun, to me this signifies the start of my favorite time of the year. but that is for another entry. this weekend also coincides with a very special persons birthday, my grandmother. she would kill me if i disclosed her age, but her spirit is still very young and i wanted to make a necklace for her to capture both her wisdom and youth. i was most definitely inspired by the oncoming storm with the use of so much grey, but also made sure to include strategic uses of color and sparkle to add some drama. i finished the necklace with a special message.

pink and silver update

wanted to include a some pictures of the completed pink, pearl and silver necklace shown only in pieces in my last entry. i think it came out wonderfully. this was created for a mother from her daughter as a birthday gift. it is special to work on projects like this.
