labor day weekend for most is a somber reminder that yet another summer has come to a close. though i live for those weekends away at the beach, spending time in the sun, to me this signifies the start of my favorite time of the year. but that is for another entry. this weekend also coincides with a very special persons birthday, my grandmother. she would kill me if i disclosed her age, but her spirit is still very young and i wanted to make a necklace for her to capture both her wisdom and youth. i was most definitely inspired by the oncoming storm with the use of so much grey, but also made sure to include strategic uses of color and sparkle to add some drama. i finished the necklace with a special message.
